Timely Maintenance Ensures a Worry-Free Winter

Whether you’re packing up your Excel and heading south, or putting it into storage, timely maintenance will help provide a worry-free winter. Here are some things you should be checking right now:

  • Make sure the LP gas pressure in your furnace, refrigerator, and stove is sufficient to run your appliances. A minimum of 11½ water column inches is desired, but any RV repair shop can help you with this.
  • Check your unit’s brakes, wheel bearings, suspension, and tire condition. Always run the tire pressure to the psi marked on the tire.
  • Check caulking and sealants around your roof, windows and doors. The smallest water leak can cause big problems down the road.
  • Lubricate the front lock mechanism of manual awnings.
  • Make sure you have a strong battery. This is especially true of newer models, as their hydraulic systems require a strong battery to function.

If you’ve never winterized your Excel coach before, and have questions that aren’t covered in the manual, call our Service Department at 1-800-368-3759.
