The Winslow D37DSF Captures HGTV’s Best of Show Award During National RV Event
Peterson Industries, manufacturer of Excel RVs, is proud to announce that our Winslow D37SDF was selected as Best of Show by HGTV during the 2013 America’s Largest RV Show, September 11-15, 2013 in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The Winslow D37SDF will be featured in “RV 2014” an HGTV program that will air on January 1, 2014.
Widely viewed as the preeminent RV showcase in the industry, the 2013 America’s Largest RV Show drew approximately 1,200 units to an area equal to 23 football fields. RV manufacturers from around the country put their newest, best, and brightest ideas on display in an attempt to capture attention and sales in an extremely competitive market.
RV manufacturing powerhouse, Elkhart, Indiana, is always well represented during the show, so it was especially gratifying that Smith Center, Kansas, with a population of 1,600, and located 65 miles from the closest McDonald’s, captured this incredible honor.
“I couldn’t believe my ears when HGTV producers told me they wanted to feature the Winslow D37SDF as their Best of Show,” said Bryan Tillett, Peterson Industries President. “We were chosen for having the three best innovations in the industry this year.”
The Excel Winslow D37SDF features an industry first walk-in door in the slide out. It also features a new bath and a half with the master bath in front of the bedroom, and Excel’s exclusive Rhino Eco-Coat roof system.
The unit generated plenty of interest during the show, with the display unit selling within the first two hours after the event opened. A second unit with the same floorplan also sold the next day.
“The many positive comments the Winslow D37SDF received during the show made me so proud of our employees,” said Tillett. “The credit goes to the people behind the scenes who work very hard to build the highest rated, best quality RV in the industry. For Peterson Industry employees, it’s just what they do. But it’s important for them to know how much they mean to others. The unit going down the assembly line is someone else’s dream RV. It feels great to be part of such an important purchase. ”
Excel sold a total of five units during the show, with calls and emails pouring in afterward, resulting in the best Hershey showing in the company’s history.
HGTV producers spent significant time throughout the event, shooting footage and conducting interviews in preparation for their popular “RV 2014” show. Tillett reports that unit orders at the Excel plant are backordered through December 2013. The company is experiencing its best sales since the recession, with a goal of increasing production by 33%.
